Pakistan NSC Meeting Concludes, Armed Forces Authorized for Full Action

Islamabad: In the wake of India’s unprovoked attack, an emergency meeting of Pakistan’s National Security Committee (NSC) was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The meeting was attended by federal ministers and heads of the armed forces, where the committee was briefed on the situation following the Indian aggression.

According to sources, the NSC reviewed the evolving situation, discussed the rising tensions, and was briefed on the current developments. Following the discussions, a formal statement was issued, emphasizing that while Pakistan remains committed to peace, it will not compromise on its sovereignty. The statement announced that the country’s armed forces have been granted full authorization for necessary action.

The NSC resolution highlighted that Pakistan reserves the right to respond under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter. This right includes taking retaliatory measures at a time, place, and manner of its choosing, in response to the loss of innocent civilian lives and the blatant violation of sovereignty.

The committee strongly condemned India’s aggression, which targeted allegedly civilian populations through missile, aerial, and drone attacks. In response, Pakistan claimed that it's armed forces successfully shot down five Indian fighter jets, including three Rafale jets, and intercepted multiple drones.

The NSC statement reiterated that Pakistan has the full right to self-defense and urged the international community to take notice of India’s aggression. The nation takes pride in the courage and timely response of its armed forces.

Furthermore, it was disclosed that the federal cabinet will convene at 3:30 PM to endorse the decisions of the NSC. Cabinet members will be briefed on the resolutions passed during the emergency meeting.

Earlier, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar stated that the Indian forces had raised a white flag along the Line of Control (LoC) following Pakistan’s robust response, which resulted in significant damage to Indian military positions.

Pakistan’s armed forces reportedly destroyed several Indian military outposts, including a brigade headquarters, and downed five Indian fighter jets. The Pakistani military's retaliatory actions are ongoing, with reports of substantial damage inflicted on Indian positions.
